A heart for our community.
We are Stephen and Veronica Trigo, founders of Heart of Refuge. On September 29, 2021, we established this organization in Texas City to serve people experiencing homelessness, older adults, and anyone in need throughout Galveston County.
Our faith guides our commitment to care for our neighbors. Through meals, clothing, blankets, and essential supplies, we seek to meet immediate needs while offering encouragement, kindness, and dignity.
To us, a warm meal is also an opportunity to welcome someone, listen to their story, and remind them that they matter. We want every person who comes to Heart of Refuge to feel seen, respected, and included.
With the help of volunteers, donors, and community partners, we continue building a place where neighbors can find practical support and human connection.
